Description

Pair 19th c o/c paintings of Sailor and family, both same size and in matching period frames. Unsigned, one painting has a Mother sleeping on chair holding her child with dream of rocky waves crashing against a rock over her head, the other painting is her Sailor Husband gazing out at the sea, with his hand on an older child as he sleeps, with a sailor kissing his Wife and possibly a Nun with the 2 children at the top. The paintings measure 8" x 7", the frames measure 15" x 14". From the Hudson, New York estate of Albert Burnette Roberts, noted Art collector and researcher.
