Erro Gudmundur Gudmundsson, b.1932, Iceland - 'Horses' - gouache and ink on paper, signed and dated: 1959, dimensions: 35X50 cm, frame dimensions: 53X69 cm. Erró is the nickname of the Icelandic artist Gommandur Domandsson, who was known for works in the pop art and post-modern style, and for works with a political message. One of his famous series of paintings deals with images of Mao Zedong. Aro is married to the artist Miriam Bat-Yosef, and the couple have one son who was born in 1960. Erró is a visual artist and painter, who is best known for his painted pop art collages of images from comic books and advertisements. He lives in France and Spain. Erro studied art in Norway and Italy and has resided in Paris, Thailand, and on the island of Formentera for most of his life. In 1989 he donated a large collection of his works to the Reykjavik Arts Museum. Period: 20th century
