Medal bar belonging to a nurse of the Spanish Civil War, bearing seven medals and matching ribbons. Included: Women's Auxiliary Military Health medal with two 'Constancia' clasps, Red Cross Women's Nurse's Medal, Official Blood Donors medal with a gold ‘Viva Espana’ bar on the ribbon, Spanish Civil War Medal for Suffering of the Country two gold bars on the ribbon reading ’10-X-1936’ and ’29-X-1936’, Red Cross 1936-1939 Campaign medal, Spanish Civil War Campaign Medal 1936-1939, and an Order of Medhauia. Housed in original 4 x 2 in. brown leather case. Some tarnish and oxidation here and there, overall very good. Sold with reference the book: ‘German and Spanish Military Rings’ by Stephen J. Shaw and Mike Lovell (Pennsylvania: Kollektor Press), 2021. 326pp. 8vo., collector’s edition, no dust jacket. This book features and details this exact miniature medal bar on page 160. Shaw inscribes and signs in blue ink on the title page. A heavily illustrated book detailing military rings seen from World War I, World War II, and specifically Spanish Civil War militaria.
