Yellow cloth Star of David imprinted 'Jude', 3 in. diameter, in correct yellow cloth color and weave, very heavily printed in black. The star has an expertly hand-stitched white backing sewn internally through a hole made by a tailor on the reverse of the patch which was likely intended to have been used as a 'portable' identification that could be pinned to different garments as the need arose, without the need to actually sew the star to the garment. This was a common practice. These stars were used to publicly identify Jews (this one used for Jews in Germany), and this example was obtained by us from a private long-time collector in Germany.
