A beautiful Murano Alexandrite glass sculpture depicting an endearing pair of fluttering lovebirds by Italian master Renato Anatra, signed in script on the base. Alexandrite glass is named for Alexandrite stone and dazzles in shades of lavender that grow lighter or darker depending upon the lighting conditions. This composition is rather unusual for Anatra. In fact, we have yet to find another depiction of this lovebird theme by Anatra. A gorgeous work of glass art by Renato Anatra, one of the most admired Murano glass artists of the 20th century who co-founded Vetri Artistici Art 80 with fellow Murano artist, Andrea Tagliapetra. Size: 9.25" L x 16.5" W x 14.375" H (23.5 cm x 41.9 cm x 36.5 cm)
