Description
Ruth Fluno (1927-1974 Washington) "The Funniest Man At The Party" Ink Drawing. Signed lower right. Drawing reads "Look at me. I'm the funniest man at the party. I make people laugh; tell jokes; imitate a mating moose. After 4 drinks I will goose my host while standing on my head, and singing "Jesus Loves Me" backwards. And cry in bed at the party's end & there's no one here to watch me; applaud me; tell me I'm a funny fello: making love to an empty pillow.". Fluno is best known for her humorous and critical portraits of middle class Americans; she considered much of her artwork to be social commentary. She also created numerous sketches and paintings of buildings in Walla Walla, Washington and southern Europe. Sheet measures 19.5x15.5", framed measurements of 24x20". Some staining from adhesive at bottom corners of floated sheet, otherwise excellent condition.
