Description
An American Classical Carved Mahogany Shelf Clock, Asa Munger, Auburn, New York, Second Quarter 19th Century. The circular enamel dial with Arabic numerals, having an eight-day brass time and rack strike movement. The interior with wallpaper to the backboards retaining an original full paper label inscribed "A. Munger's / PATENT / BRASS EIGHT DAY / CLOCKS AND TIME PIECES, / WARRANTED GOOD, / AND / SOLD WHOLESALE & RETAIL, / AUBURN."Â Together with an associated stained cherry wall bracket.

Condition
The clock case in an overall refinished condition. Scattered losses to the eglomise and mirrored tablets. The enamel dial with craquelure, flaking and losses overall. With two weights, pendulum and winding key. At the time the condition report was conducted, the clock was maintaining power nd striking correctly. We cannot guarantee the completeness or functionality of the clock's movement.
