A photographic and lithographic display, featuring a genuine autograph by Mickey Mantle (1931-1995), commemorating the "M&M Boys," the duo of New York Yankees baseball players Mantle and Roger Maris (1934-1985), teammates from 1960 to 1966 who gained prominence during the 1961 season, when Maris and Mantle both challenged Babe Ruth's record of 60 home runs. The home run lead would change hands between the two teammates numerous times throughout the summer and fueled intense scrutiny; Maris eventually broke the record when he hit his 61st home run on the final day of the season. Includes: one (1) color photographic print depicting Mantle and Maris during the 1961 season, signed MICKEY MANTLE to top; and one (1) lithographic print depicting Mantle and Maris, after an original work produced circa 2000 by American sports artist Robert Stephen Simon (1928-2014). Accompanied with certificate of authenticity from AUTHENTIC AUTOGRAPHS UNLIMITED (Nevada) affixed to back. Presented under glass in a custom display frame.
