Western Europe, Neoclassical period, ca. 19th century CE. A wonderful trio of Neoclassical jewelry: a carnelian intaglio of Hermes (Roman Mercury) set in a rose gold brooch, an agate cameo of Athena (Roman Minerva) in a gold brooch, and a blue-glazed stone scarab in a gold pendant of 2 serpents. Size of largest (scarab pendant): 1.2" L x 1" W (3 cm x 2.5 cm); gold quality: 40.24 to 68.56% (from 9.7 to 16.5 karats); total weight: 17.8 grams
