Description
Very rare BMW 315 van, it is believed that only about 500 of this model were produced, the van body was made of wood and is completely glazed. Chassis number: 47449, engine number: 47449. The vehicle was used during the 2. World War II by the German Wehrmacht (it still shows its Wehrmacht - gray paint and a standard bearer on the front mudguard), then it was left in the former East Germany and used by a butcher in Saxony to deliver his goods until the 60s. The BMW was permanently immobilized in 1968 and has since been stored in a dry barn. Today the vehicle presents itself in an untouched and fantastically patinated but intact and complete condition, there is no perforation corrosion at all on the entire vehicle, as well as the wooden body is dry and solid, there are no traces of an accident and the glazing was not damaged either. Apart from the headlight units all components are present, the engine turns and runs. The vehicle is equipped with the East German vehicle registration document and the 'Kraftfahrzeug - Steuer- und Versichungskarte' as well as the butcher's contract of sale from 1957 and the East German number sign. A rare as well as a charming restoration project with a solid starting point.
