The Kashkuli were the only Qashqai tribe who knotted these gorgeous rugs with the millefleur design, probably in their own workshops and on commission for Persian clients. The field design including two halved lateral cypresses is an almost literal rendition of older Indian models from the Mughal period, whereas the design of the azure main border is conceived in the Qashqai style using Qashqai devices. Very fine weave, velvety pile wool.
