Paul Alphonse Viry (France, 1832-1913). This oil painting on wood panel is signed "Paul Viry, Paris, 1879", lower left. There is also a plaque titling and attributing the work to Viry. It depicts a woman in a pink silk dress and a young boy in a garden. The photographic plate of this image can be found in his Catalogue Raisonné, but it details that the finished painting has not been photographed. The work is housed in an ornate gilt frame. The painting has craquelure, as well as a fleck of discoloration to the woman's dress. The frame is quite dusty, and has a few chips to its decorations.
