Description
Tapering cylindrical, the base with applied wrigglework and stiff leaf border, the flat domed cover with crenellated lip, engraved with a monogram "LML", scroll handle with applied mask and pendent fruiting swag, the terminal with applied cherub mask, with corkscrew thumbpiece, the front engraved with coat of arms with acanthus and fruit cartouche with later spout (applied circa 1948), one side of body later engraved "IEB", the other "TLB 1948", struck twice with maker's mark at handle. Height 7 3/4 inches, approximately 43 ounces.
Condition
Good color and patina, details of decoration and engraving crisp and good; behind the later added spout the body has been pierced (not notch cut) showing parts of the original engraved arms; the body with small scattered dents
