America, Early 19th Century
In pine under a red-wash finish. Bands of stenciled chrome yellow stars and flowers around perimeter of top, front and sides, accented with black fylfots and leaves. Test patterns of paint treatment on backboard, which is also marked "MH" twice. Interior with till.
Height 24.5". Width 46". Depth 17.75".
