Sr. Cordova (Mexican, XX-XXI). Signed "Sr. Cordova" on underside. A stunning hand-carved and hand-painted wooden winged dragon presenting with a dramatic, fire breathing pose. This mythical dragon was expertly carved with removable pieces (wings, ears, antennae, and the flame within its open mouth) and meticulously painted with intricate patterns and a complex color palette (shades of teal, lime green, buttercup yellow, strawberry pink, cobalt blue, aqua, scarlet red, lavender, black, and white). A remarkable Oaxacan alebrije, finely carved and artisan painted with meticulous patterns in a wide array of colors. Size: 19.5" L x 15" W x 14" H (49.5 cm x 38.1 cm x 35.6 cm)
