Portrait of a Lady

signed A.D.L. and dated 1852, lower left and with painted coat of arms, upper left
17 x 14 inches.
The painting is accompanied by two letters from Grace Boyd of Chez Dreux around the time of purchase, detailing her research on the painting. She mentions that the portrait was found in Touraine. Her research into Lariviere uncovered record of a painting by him of a 'Mme de B.' which was completed in 1852.
Provenance:
Purchased by Mrs. William A Kruse from Chez Dreux, Newport, Rhode Island, 1929.
Gifted to her grandson, Charles Fleischmann III.
