A set of six bamboo design silver-plated teaspoons featuring the names of Charles Hartwell's daughter, Carrie Amelia Hartwell Tupper (1864-1959), and her children Marion, Emily, Edward, and Charles. Together with a drawing of each spoon handle with names identified. FROM THE FAMILY OF REV. CHARLES HARTWELL (1825-1905) and Lucy Estabrook Stearns Hartwell (1827-1883); their children Charles Stearns Hartwell (1855-1931), Emily Susan Hartwell (1859-1951), and Carrie Amelia Hartwell Tupper (1864-1959); Congregational missionaries and philanthropists in Foochow (Fuzhou), China, 1850s-1930s.
