Consisting of 11 woodblock prints of birds and flowers/branches; ranging in size from 11 1/2in x 10 1/4 inches to 13in x 13 1/4in; all tipped-on to paper; varying conditions with edge tears/creases and some repairs, toning, a few with light spotting. Together with a sheet of collage-decorated paper and a hand-painted silk fan. FROM THE FAMILY OF REV. CHARLES HARTWELL (1825-1905) and Lucy Estabrook Stearns Hartwell (1827-1883); their children Charles Stearns Hartwell (1855-1931), Emily Susan Hartwell (1859-1951), and Carrie Amelia Hartwell Tupper (1864-1959); Congregational missionaries and philanthropists in Foochow (Fuzhou), China, 1850s-1930s.
