Each sun is features three hand-constructed layers which allow space for the light to pass through and create beautiful shadows as it plays off the rays. The cut metal is finished in gilt wash for a warm glow. These sconces are the "Piccola" size, the smallest of the Sonne series; each has only one socket. Sconces are labeled with Serial No. 3001602 on wall plates and "je Fassung / Max. 60W" on sockets.
