Description
DESCRIPTION: Antique Important Chinese Transitional to Kangxi Period Doucai Meiping Porcelain vase depicting The Fuzhu, a deer creature in Chinese Mythology. This is a small Doucai porcelain vase hand painted with a technique where parts of the design were painted in underglaze blue. After being glazed and fire, the rest of the design was added in overglaze enamels and the piece was fired again at a lower temperature. This rare vase is tall with a narrow base spreading gracefully into a wide body, followed by a sharply-rounded shoulder, a short and narrow neck, and a small opening.
