Kharlampi Dmitrievich Kostandi "Two seascapes", oil on panel, 20th century
These paintings strongly resemble works of Odessa artist Kharlampi Kostandi.
Kharlampi Dmitrievich Kostandi (also Kostanda) was born in Odessa on the Black Sea in the second half of the 1860s. He studied at the Odessa Art School and afterwards at several private studios in Paris. He painted chiefly costal motives, seascapes and forest landscapes. As an exponent he is known through his participation at the 2nd Spring Exhibition of 1897 in Odessa. In 1900 he picked out 100 works for the lottery "To good of refuge for journalists"; this collection was exhibited in Odessa before the lottery s day.
He died after 1917. Place of his death remains unknown.
