Impressionist depiction of a bridge covered canal with white buildings to one side and trees to the other. Pyne was a member of the Bristol School of artists and widely self taught. Fellow artist William James Müller was apprenticed to him for a time before Pyne became the Vice President of the Society of British Artists.
