Ford Morris" and dated "54" lower right, presented in a gilt and gesso frame, H.- 21 3/8 in., W.- 27 1/2 in., Framed- H.- 28 1/2 in., W.- 34 5/8 in. Provenance: Property from a Gentleman Antiquarian and Dealer, Mandeville, Louisiana.
Condition
Condition aligns with age and use. There is a small loss within the green foliage on the center left. There appears to be some areas with abrasions. Examination under UV light shows evidence of restoration efforts along edges of both the female figure and the horse. However, due to the technique used by the artist, it is unclear if the texture in this area is indicative of paint loss or if it's inherent to the original artwork. This is a lovely piece.
