Various sizes, 32x22 cm (12½x8¾") or smaller, stitched with string, with printed and manuscript cover sheet.Interesting and significant file of documents relating to the organization and reorganization of a Chinese society or casino, in Matanzas, 90 kilometers east of the capital Havana. The Chinese Casino in Corral Falso de Macuriges was founded on January 10, 1888. Its main objective was to bring together the Chinese residing in the territory and maintain their customs, manifested mainly in the meals, games and festivities, primarily of a religious nature. In this reorganization the Society adopted a new name "Pedro Betancourt", as can be seen in the document dated 1925. The Expediente was put forth by the "Centro Asiaticos de este pueblo" for the approval of the Society's name change and its new regulations. There are two pages with numerous Chinese signatures and several seals of the casino present.

Condition
Paper browned, brittle, worming and chipping with some loss; overall very good considering its fragility, age and tropical origin.
