Description
Pennsylvania, 19th century, cotton. Blue and white striped pocket with family history attached: "Our Grand-Grand Mother homespun curtins 130 years old in 1880. Susanna Wright married Nathan Yearsley. Second married was to Nathan Hunt. Lewis M. Garrett." 20" long, 8" wide. Susanna Wright (1726-1815) married Nathan Yearsley (1726-b.1766) in 1752 in Philadelphia, and then, upon his death, remarried William Hunt (c. 1724-1790) in 1774 in Chester County. The fabric does not appear to be from mid-18th century curtains, so the family story is apocryphal, but the genealogy can be confirmed. SUQ
