Four Stoneware Jars and a Crock, mid-Atlantic United States, 19th century. Assembled group includes four cylindrical jars with cobalt decoration, the largest impressed with medallion logo of German-American potter Peter Herrman (1825-1901), Baltimore, Maryland, together with a stout lug-handled crock with conforming treen lid, impressed with mark of Jacob Swank, Sr. (1828-89), Johnstown, Pennsylvania, above capacity figure 1 1/2, crock, 25cm wide, 25cm deep, 17cm high (10 3/4in wide, 10in deep, 7in high).
