Pewter Soap Box, Ashbil Griswold (1784-1853), Meriden, Connecticut, c. 1820. Circular dish with flat-domed hinged lid overhanging a well divided into two sections, bottom impressed 'A.G.' in center, 10cm wide, 10cm deep, 2cm high (4 1/2in wide, 4 1/2in deep, 1 3/4in high).
