Pietra dura, pair of framed figural plaques, Italian, late 19th C., each inset with carved hardstone including marble, lapis, turquoise, etc., into black Belgian marble ground, one of a gentleman stretching his back while using a sword as a cane, second of ornately dressed young woman with green fan, each in matching frame with old labels verso including one which reads "Purchased from 'The Marcus' Gallery'", along with the remnants of a handwritten label in script and stamped "Made in Italy" at bottom, wear to plaques consistent with age and use including rubbing where plaque meets frame, expected small hairlines to stone, etc., both sold as is, plaque size: ss: 9 1/2" h. x 5" w.
