5 Chinese Archaistic Ceramic Vessels: 3 unglazed, the largest, a vase with flared mouth and 2 strap handles to sides with combed band to neck and a flat bottom; a low pot with comb-hammered sides and 2 loop handles to shoulders; and a rice bale shaped vessel with incised lines and a flared foot; together with 2 glazed vessels, a small necked jar with painting under the glaze with unglazed foot ring and bottom, and an ochre & brown clay marbleized jar in basket weave lines to base and to side divisions, lightly straw glazed. Height of large unglazed vessel 7 1/4 inches (18.5 cm.). PROVENANCE: Property from the Collection of Steven J. Harvis, New York, 3 with his label afixed to the base, the comb-hammered jar #307, the rice bail vessel #511, and the small necked glazed vessel #310.
Condition
Age related wear to each with a few minor flakes around openings, the glazed jar with small mouth with glaze degraded around shoulders and mouth, the comb-hammered vessel with an infilled hairline from mouth.
