ENGLISH REPOUSSE-DECORATED BRASS HEARTH ASH BUCKET, of footed cylindrical form with rolled rim, each side chased with a different coat of arms, flanked by applied lion masks, each having a bail handle. Fitted with a modern metal liner. 19th century. 15" H, 15 3/4" D.

Provenance:

Sold by the Museum of the Shenandoah Valley to benefit acquisition and conservation funds. Estate of Julian Wood Glass Jr. (1910-1992) of Winchester, VA; New York, NY; and Tulsa, OK.

Condition

Good condition with moderate denting from use, no holes or breaks.
