Description
ENGLISH GEORGIAN STERLING SILVER EGG / CRUET STAND, oval base with walnut wood underside raised on four tab feet, top with four round holders for bottles or egg cups, alternating with small rings probably to hold egg spoons or other utensils, center having stem ending in an ovoid handle, reeded accents throughout. Cruet stand impressed in three places with unidentified "WA" maker's mark, impressed to side edge of base with four hallmarks of a lion passant for sterling fineness, a crowned leopard's head city mark for London, an "E" date mark for 1800, and a King George III duty mark, two other places with two or three hallmarks. Total weight including wood: 16.78 ozt. Together with a set of four later 19th century colorless cut-glass condiment bottles, consisting of three bottles of one having a period glass stopper and a pair with silver-like caps, and a mustard jar with silver-like collar and hinged lid, unmarked. Five pieces total. Circa 1800. 9 1/4" HOA, 7" x 5" OA.

Condition
Cruet stand in very good overall condition with minor wear, surface scratches, nicks, and minor/small dents, possibly one or a few minor repairs; bottles with typical pattern flakes and nicks with most or all as made, otherwise undamaged, possible post-production polishing on one bottle, caps on pair with possible repair, stopper with a polished chip to end of extension, probably as made.
