1601 Theodore De Bry, Latin Text, "Indiae Orientalis" 1st Edition, Part III, Plate X "QUO RITU INCOLAE S. LAURENTII INSULAE chorea agant 4.". Plate engraving on paper, illustration hand colored. Good condition with edge wear, measures approximately 12" H x 7.75" W.
Theodore, (Theodorus) De Bry, (1528-1598) Liege Belgium. Engraver and publisher of famous books, "Grands Voyages" and "Petit Voyages" which brought a European audience descriptions of the new world and the far east with illustrative plates often after first hand witness depictions and accounts. "Grands Voyages" grew to 30 volumes, later works published posthumously by De Bry's children.
