Description
Two Meissen Porcelain Allegorical Figural Groups Both figural groups featuring putti. Comprising of: an allegory of Fire, called The Hot Chocolate Stirrer; and an allegory of Love, Cupid, sharpening an Arrow, by Psyche, playing with a cluster of arrows, all under a tree. Both with underglaze blue crossed swords mark, Hot Chocolate figure incised E97, impressed 44, Sharpening figure incised E26, and impressed 42. Second quarter, 20th Century. {Approximate dimensions: 7 1/2" H., overall.}. Condition: The figures are in good condition. Losses to chocolate pot handle and kettle spout and handle; loss of small tree branch near back of figure and assorted chips and losses to leaves on tree; minor scratches to surfaces; sparse flaking of enamels.
