Description
An antique 19th century oil on board painting of a Polish Nobleman after the original painting by Rembrandt van Rijn, Dutch, 1606 to 1669. The portrait represents a man wearing a brown mantle with a fur collar and holding a staff with a golden cap in his right hand. He has a thick mustache and wears a high fur cap on which there is a golden chain with precious stones and a coat of arms in the center. From his ear, a large pear-shaped pearl hangs from a golden earring. Circa 1825. Features a hand-inscribed old paper label attached to the backside.
