Colonel Tucker served as a British officer during the Peninsular Campaign and was severely wounded at Waterloo. In retirement, he wrote The Life and Naval Memoirs of Lord Nelson (1850).

Condition
Glue relined. Dense varnish layer; hard to see condition under UV light. Some contours and shadows, and the forelocks of the hair reinforced. Inainted cracks in the background.
