Horsfield 1769-1838", "Lucy Ashton", "Her Son Thomas v as 1st Lord Ashton of Hyde, with "Lucy Horsfield/Horsfield/Southill House/Cranmore" en verso to stretcher with Thomas. Agnew & Sons and T. Bourne & Sons Ltd. labels to frame, in period giltwood and gesso frame. Provenance: From the Private Collection of the Argenbrights, Atlanta, Georgia. Canvas approx. h. 63", w. 48"; Overall h. 72", w. 56.5", d. 4.5".

Condition

Canvas has been lined, scattered inpainting, craquelure, hazy green varnish visible under ultraviolet light, paint surface is stable.
