Beautiful antique Flemish tapestry, hand woven of wool (warp) and silk (weft), probably in Oudenaarde, circa 1590. The tapestry is titled Le Siege de Bethulie (The Siege to Bethulia), authenticity and appraisal conducted by Nicole de Pazzis-Chevalier, Paris France. Reference: James Hall, 1974, Dictionary of Subjects and Symbols in Art, p. 181. 7'10" x 11'10"
Condition
Missing borders, newer protective backing, a "rentrayage", otherwise good condition considering age.
