Description
A THREE PANEL FLOOR SCREEN MADE FROM 17TH CENTURY FLEMISH TAPESTRY REMNANTS, each tall panel composed of two conforming sections taken from Flemish silk and wool game park tapestries, depicting various birds and wildlife set amidst verdant forests with distant classical structures within rolling hills, verso mounted on wood frame. Height: 7' 1/2" Width: 5' 5/8" Provenance: Property from the Jesse H. Jones and Houston Endowment Collection, all proceeds to benefit the Houston Food Bank.
Condition
Dry areas, old stains, faded, losses, splits, loose threads, old repairs, water residue marks on base area, dusty, and wood frame is old, has inactive worming, a bit loose, and the linen backing has deteriorated.
