A Crichton & Son Brass Triple Circle Sextant, English, late 19th century,signed Crichton & Son and B J H Adamson R.N., with silvered scale and vernier, magnifier, two sets of coloured filters and shaped mahogany handle, in fitted mahogany case with two telescopes, sextant 6in (15cm) radiuscase 4 3/4in x 9in x 8 1/2in (12cm x 23cm x 21.5cm) Footnotes:Bryan John Huthwaite Adamson was a lieutenant in the Royal Navy who commanded HMS Wasp. On September 10th 1887 he set sail for Singapore and was never seen again.
