Larry Bird Signed 1978 ISU Yearbook
A signed Larry Bird 1978 Indiana State University Yearbook. Measuring 9" x 12", 384pp, Terre Haute, Indiana, dated 1978. A copy of the "Sycamore Yearbook" from Larry Bird's junior year of college, Vol. 84. Signed on the photo title page in silver felt tip "Larry Bird." Throughout the yearbook are multiple photographs and articles on Bird as well-p.10-11: "ISU slaughters Purdue 91-63" by Tony Tanoos; p.120-125: "The Trees settle in the Valley and Bird flies high" by Craig McKee; p.330: Tree Awards "The You-Don't-Have-To-Be-A-Star-To-Be-In-Our-Show Award". Bird is also featured on the cover of the yearbook. Interestingly, Larry Bird is not present in his Junior class photograph - perhaps he missed photo day! The yearbook has light wear, with bumped corners and spine edges. With a large, bold signature.
Prior to signing with the Boston Celtics, Larry Bird was a basketball star for the Indiana State University Sycamores in the late 1970s. He enrolled at ISU in 1975 and helped the Sycamores reach the NCAA tournament for the first time in school history in 1979 with a 33-0 record. Bird averaged 30.3 points and 13.3 rebounds per game across his three seasons for the Sycamores, winning just about every collegiate award during his final season in 1978-79.
