Document signed by Godfrey Kneller, dated March 10, 1699. DOcument is a receipt or 35 pounds, 15 shillings, in interest on a loan to the crown of 300 pounds. Some foxing to the paper. Kneller signed this document, and received the interestpayment, as assignee for Edward Russel, Esq. Kneller was a prominent German born artist. In Englad, Kneller became the Court Painter for English Kings, including Charles II and George I,know for his portraits of various Kings of England, other English and continental royalty, Isaac Newton, and John Locke. Framed with an engraving of Kneller. Documentmeasures approx. 13 x 8 1/2 inches. Frame measures approx. 17 1/2 x 18.
