Pair of Brocade Fragments, Syria, 19th C. Two identical rectangular panels of silk brocade that were originally the ends of a long shawl with a black center field. The linear design features stripes containing a variety of shapes, some geometric and some with double pairs of rams horns, all in the same color scheme of red, green, black and tan. Size: Each: 58'' x 35'' (147 x 89 cm).
