A late 19th century Chinese export silver pepper caster, Canton circa 1880 retailed by Lee Ching Qing dynasty, of cylindrical form upon a pedestal domed circular foot, the domed bayonet fitted lid surmounted by a finial formed as a dragon’s head., otherwise chased with clouds and drill pierced holes. The body with embossed and chased decoration of warriors on horseback with fir and cypress trees. The foot embossed with stylised leaves. Gilt interior. Marked underneath only with retailer’s mark LEE CHING. Height – 12.3 cm / 4.8 inches Weight – 94 grams / 3.02 ozt
