A PAIR OF 18TH CENTURY SILVER-MOUNTED ENGLISH FLINTLOCK PISTOLS BY BARBAR, LONDON each having a three-stage steel barrel with silver foresights set in X-form mounts, octagonal signed breeches with foliate engraving, signed engraved lockplates with gold pan and touch hole, steel engraved trigger guard with acorn finials. The figured walnut full stocks with engraved and pierced side plates and grotesque mask buttcaps, relief-carved with shells at the barrel tangs above silver escutcheons with engraved coat of arms, horn-tipped ramrods. (32cm overall)
