Item Details

Description

Continental polychrome painted pine wedding trunk, carved date of 1782, having a domed lid, fish scale and guilloche carving, double ciphers, and dated 1782, apparently unmarked.

Approximate dimensions: h. 29.5", w. 66", d. 27.5"

Condition

Later decoration, stable crack to lid, pleasing distressed finish, lock has been removed, wear and loss to base, trunk is structurally sound.
