Printed in handset Goudy New Style type on Unbleached Arnold paper. No. 345 of 400 copies printed by Edwin and Robert Grabhorn.Includes an additional laid-in woodcut signed by Valenti Angelo. Image constitutes the headpiece to Book 10, "Our Old Feuillage" (p. 137). The finest printing of Whitman's Leaves of Grass and a masterwork of the Grabhorn Press. Taking over a year to print, "The tremendous impression necessary to print this book so strained the press that the printers suggested the colophon should read: '400 copies printed and the press destroyed'" (Grabhorn Bibliography I).
