Description

Presented is a rare and very large-sized Meissen Porcelain Nodding Pagoda Figure in a beautiful and very well detailed colorscheme.

Modeled seated with legs crossed, her mouth open in a smile revealing a wagging tongue, the detachable head with a Meissen porcelain counter-balance, the hands similarly articulated.These were made, and this is just a belief, to show the first signs of an earthquake. At the slightest tremor, the hands would move and the head would bob forward.
The quality of the painting is very fine and good
