A full leather-bound portfolio with 36 watercolors of moths and butterflies, in various sizes, all on wove paper with deckled edges, with the original interleaving tissue paper, title page, and embossed decorative end sheets, all housed in a leather and paper slipcase; 31 watercolors on paper laid to the original bound wove paper and 5 watercolors painted directly to the bound wove paper; 26 signed in pencil directly underneath the image, lower right: Abbey Schwartz; 10 initialed in pencil directly underneath the image, lower right: A.S.; the gilt title and date and 5 decorative embossed stamps on the spine of the full leather portfolio

Overall good condition with wear commensurate with age. General wear/rubbing and minimal soiling to leather cover and spine. Cockling to the wove paper where the watercolors are, attendant with the material used. Handling creases, and occasional pale pinpoint-sized areas of foxing, and very pale toning, all commensurate with age. The slipcase with slight soiling, specks of grime, wear to the leather edges, and minor and uneven staining to the spine.
