A near-pair of large Chinese celadon porcelain vases
Early Qing Dynasty (1644-1911) or later
One marked to the underside in blue underglaze bearing the reign mark for Kangxi Period (1662-1722) within a double ring; one marked to the underside in blue underglaze bearing an honorific Chenghua Period (1465-1487) reign mark
Each with flared neck surmounting an inverted pear-shaped body, the exterior surfaces incised with vine and lotus scroll motifs and cov)ered in an all-over gray green glaze, 2 pieces
Each: 30.25" H x 12.25" Dia.
Condition
Each overall good condition with shelf wear, scattered minor scuffs, scratches, and inherent firing flaws commensurate with age. As well, each with scattered pinholing and pinpoint oxidation to the glaze layer throughout. Scattered kiln and firing flaws throughout each. One vase appears to have areas of possible repair and retouching to the neck with some of the paint flaking off.
