Description
An oil on canvas painting depicting the meeting of Granida and Daifilo. Signed, Christian, on the lower right. Created after the original 17th century Dutch painting by Casper Casteleyn. Granida and Daifilo were lovers from the Dutch pastoral play Granida, 1605, by Pieter Hooft. Casper Casteleyn, 1625 to 1661 or 81, was a Dutch painter and draughtsman, working in Haarlem.
